A wonderful new joint exhibition featuring two well established artists.
Based in the Borders Ken's subject matter is rooted in his love of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Although his style is grounded in realism, he edits the landscape quite freely to help evoke and capture the desired atmosphere and mood. His use and control of the watercolour medium imparts a strong sense a calm and serenity into his chosen scene.
Painting in oils, Peter is often inspired by the rural landscapes of Scotland and its harbours and coastlines however his ability to capture the feel of city life is derived from his incredible energetic but precise brushwork. Based in Ayrshire, Peter endeavours to capture the way light and reflections can play across ordinary objects and familiar places.
